Focus T25 - Day 2

Day 2 - Saturday

The last thing I want to do today is another workout because I am sore from yesterday, mostly in my calf muscles and my triceps of my right arm.  This is the arm that I was concerned with before starting this program.  This arm is at great risk for lymphedema because of the lack of lymph nodes left after the cancer surgery.  Today, I began having those phantom pains that feel sharp like someone is stabbing me in the armpit. They hurt like hell but only last a few seconds.

Anyway, I do know from past experience though that once I begin the next workout, my muscles will feel better.  That said, Lucia and I completed the "Speed 1.0" day 2, 25 minute workout and it wasn't so bad - again, because it's only 25 minutes!  Yes, we both sweat bullets but I know it will be worth it.  For the second day, I continue doing the modified workout, which really wasn't that different, it just excluded the jumping.

I am determined to get myself a T25 t-shirt after this challenge so I had Lucia take all the 'before' photos today.  Talk about uncomfortable!

Today's food:  Please remember that I am NOT on any special food diet. I am working very hard to cut out calories, sugar, and carbs but have not given them up completely.  In order to make this program work, I need to be able to stick with it.  If I remove food, the program won't last.  If I take baby steps and make small changes to my diet every day, I have a much better chance of living a longer and healthier lifestyle because I won't crave the things I am missing and then fail at this whole challenge.

Breakfast: 2 hard boiled eggs
Lunch: Veggie burger with onions, pickles, thin slice of cheddar, mustard
Snack: 1 mini snickers candy
Dinner: Bloomin' burger, fries, pina colada, apple crisp desert - hey, we were celebrating a major milestone today - I had no choice!

What I did today to better my diet:  For lunch I chose a veggie burger over a regular burger and I included mustard on my burger instead of ketchup. Ketchup is loaded with sugar!  Also, after my very bad snack choice, I removed all the halloween candy from my house!

I prefer not to be defined by cancer, but my life has certainly changed because of it.
Today, the simplicity of life and small moments of joy is what drives me.
Thanks for following my journey!
