So, a family friend, Kim - more like family than friend, who moved to Oregon several years ago, has been an amazing support to both me and my Mom during this whole cancer journey.  Even being over 2,000 miles away, she finds the time to lend an ear, send a message of hope and support through social media, or a thoughtful package in the mail.  There are days when I lose faith in humanity and on those days, it is people like Kim who restore the lost faith.

She recently attended a breast cancer run in Bend, Oregon and she let me know that I was there in spirit and in her thoughts on this day!  Thanks Kimmy!!

St. Charles Foundation's annual Heaven Can Wait 5K walk/run for breast cancer has grown to become one of the largest 5K races in Central Oregon. Each year on National Cancer Survivors Day, the first Sunday in June, the Heaven Can Wait 5K draws thousands to Bend’s Drake Park with a shared mission to raise funds for Sara’s Project. Sara’s Project raises funds to provide education, early detection and support services to ease the challenges of breast cancer for people in in Central and Eastern Oregon.

I prefer not to be defined by cancer, but my life has certainly changed because of it.
Today, the simplicity of life and small moments of joy is what drives me.
Thanks for following my journey!
